What is IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English language proficiency test for individuals aspiring to study, work, or migrate to an English-speaking country or university. There are two types of IELTS exams:

  • IELTS Academic – for those planning to pursue higher education

  • IELTS General Training – for those seeking work opportunities or permanent residency

  • Candidates can take the IELTS exam up to four times a month

  • Results are declared 13 days after the test date

IELTS Academic – Exam Pattern & Sections

1. Listening
  • Questions: 40

  • Duration: 30 minutes

The Listening section assesses how well you understand spoken English, including both main ideas and specific factual details. You’ll listen to four audio recordings of native English speakers and answer related questions.

2. Reading
  • Questions: 40

  • Duration: 60 minutes

The Reading section tests your ability to understand written content, analyze the writer’s opinions and purpose, and interpret meaning from context. You’ll need to read passages and answer questions that check your comprehension, logic, and interpretation skills.

3. Speaking
  • Questions: 15–18

  • Duration: 11–15 minutes

In the Speaking section, your spoken English is evaluated. You’ll be asked questions about yourself and general topics to check how well you can communicate clearly and fluently.

4. Writing
  • Questions: 2 tasks

  • Duration: 60 minutes

This section checks your writing skills. You’ll complete two tasks:

  1. Task 1: Describe or summarize a graph, chart, or diagram in your own words.

  2. Task 2: Write an essay in response to a point of view, argument, or problem.

Covid 19 pandemic has changed the world and its rule forever. The most important thing is the personal awareness. Although most of the countries have lifted the restrictions while some of them still have a bit of restriction for the benefit of the citizens and travellers. UAE is one of them who have a bit of restrictions on travel.

So the necessary guidelines are-

  • If you want to travel to, from or through the UAE then you must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
  • If you are fully vaccinated then you have to show proof such as the vaccination certificate. This vaccination must be approved by World Health Organisation (WHO) or the UAE.
  • This certificate must contain a QR code on it.
  • If you are not vaccinated then you have to show a certificate of RT-PCR test done before 48 hrs of travelling. This certificate must contain a QR code as well.
  • If you have been infected previously, you need to show the certificate of RT-PCR test done before 30 days of travelling.
  • If you are travelling to Dubai then you must know some more rules such as-
    If you are travelling to Dubai then you must be fully vaccinated. You will be asked to show the certificate of vaccination as well.
  • This vaccination must be approved by World Health Organisation (WHO) or the UAE.
    The passenger must have a certification of Covid 19 negative. This test should be based on a molecular diagnostic test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid for SARS‑COV‑2 viral RNA.
    The negative certification must be issued within 48 hrs of the sample collection.
  • This certification must contain a QR code on it.
  • If you have recovered from Covid 19 then you have to show the certification of the recovery issued by a health authority and this certificate also needs to be issued before 1 month of arrival. This certificate must contain a QR code.
